CAMDEN, N.J.—On Sunday morning, November 6, 2011, the historic Ben Franklin Bridge will close to allow thousands of runners and walkers to participate in this year’s Cooper Norcross Run the Bridge, presented by AmeriHealth New Jersey.
This unique 10K run and two-mile bridge walk—the largest in the tri-state area—benefits the Larc School, located in Bellmawr, N.J., serving students with a wide range of moderate to severe disabilities. All of the proceeds from the race will go directly to the school. Last year’s event attracted 5,000 participants, grossing $400,000. This year, as Larc celebrates its tenth anniversary as beneficiary of the bridge run, an even bigger turnout is expected.
“Cooper and the Norcross Foundation are proud to support this important event,” said George E. Norcross, III, Chairman of the Board at Cooper University Hospital. “The money raised will have a direct impact on the children, and their families who often struggle to find a school that can accommodate their special needs. This school is a true lifeline for New Jersey families.”
“We can’t thank everyone enough for all their support. We are thrilled and amazed with how this event has grown over the last 10 years,” said Susan Weiner, Executive Director of Larc School. “We’ve been able to raise an incredible amount of money for Larc School. We are truly making a difference in the lives of our very special boys and girls.”
