Now in its 36th year, the U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings evaluate more than 4,300 hospitals nationwide to help patients make informed decisions about their care. The rankings are based on multiple factors, including patient outcomes, experience, level of nursing care, and expert physician opinion. The procedure and condition ratings assess how well hospitals perform specific types of care, using data on mortality, readmission, length of stay, and clinical resources.
