Cooper University Health Care Supports Area Juneteenth Community Celebrations

Cooper University Health Care is proud to join many health care organizations across the country in celebrating Juneteenth, a federal holiday that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States.

“We celebrate Juneteenth as recognition of an important event in our nation and to join with colleagues, friends, and members of the community to continue the vital work of making our society more inclusive,” said Ardella Coleman, MHR, MBA, CDE, CMP, Vice President, Diversity and Talent Acquisition at Cooper.

Cooper will mark Juneteenth with a variety of team member celebrations at the hospital and ambulatory offices, including special foods and activities. In addition, Cooper is co-sponsoring several community events and activities, including:

City of Camden Juneteenth Celebration

  • Saturday, June 17 from 1 to 7 p.m. at Wiggins Waterfront Park, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden

Willingboro Juneteenth Celebration 

  • Saturday, June 17 from noon to 4 p.m. at Millcreek Park, 300 Beverly Rancocas Road, Willingboro

Cherry Hill African American Civic Association Celebration

  • Saturday, June 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Croft Farm Arts Center, 100 Bortons Mill Road, Cherry Hill

Gloucester County NAACP/Woodbury City/Prosecutor’s Office Juneteenth Freedom Day

  • Saturday, June 17 from noon to 6:30 p.m. at Stewart Park, 235 E. Red Bank Avenue Woodbury
