Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional Earns Two Quality Awards From Healthgrades

(CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE, NJ)—Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional has been recognized by Healthgrades with two distinguished 2026 quality awards, highlighting the hospital’s commitment to delivering high-quality care to patients in Cape May County and surrounding communities.

The hospital received:

  • Five-Star Rating for Treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).
  • Outpatient Orthopedic Surgery Excellence Award.

These recognitions reflect superior clinical outcomes and patient care performance in two critical areas of community health.

“These recognitions reflect the exceptional skill and dedication of our physicians, nurses, and care teams,” said Andrea McCoy, MD, chief medical officer of Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional. “Delivering high-quality, evidence-based care — whether managing chronic respiratory disease or performing advanced outpatient orthopedic procedures — is central to our mission. We are proud to provide the Cape May County community with nationally recognized care close to home.”

The Five-Star Rating for COPD treatment recognizes hospitals that demonstrate superior patient outcomes in managing one of the nation’s most prevalent chronic conditions. COPD remains a leading cause of hospitalization and significantly diminishes quality of life for millions of Americans.

The Outpatient Orthopedic Surgery Excellence Award highlights the hospital’s strong performance in outpatient musculoskeletal procedures, an area of growing demand as advances in surgical techniques allow patients to recover more quickly and return home the same day.

“These distinctions demonstrate the strength of our clinical programs and our commitment to advancing high-quality care throughout the region,” said Christine Winn, senior vice president and chief regional officer for Cooper. “Through the full integration of Cape Regional into Cooper University Health Care, we are expanding access to advanced services while preserving the personalized care that our community values.”

Healthgrades evaluates hospitals nationwide based on objective clinical outcomes data, providing consumers with transparent information to help guide health care decisions.

As part of Cooper University Health Care, Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional continues to invest in clinical excellence, patient safety, and expanding access to specialty services throughout southern New Jersey.
