Cooper and MD Anderson Cancer Center Officially Enter Partnership

Today, Cooper University Health Care and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center signed a partnership agreement to create MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper in Camden. This new, integrated cancer center will be the first partnership for MD Anderson in the Northeast. MD Anderson is located in Houston, Texas, and is the No. 1 cancer center in the United States according to U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Hospitals” survey for the last 10 of 12 years.

Cooper Physician Named 2013 MacArthur Fellow Jeffrey C. Brenner, MD, One of 24 Nationwide to Receive Prestigious “Genius Grant”

Brenner, MD, Medical Director of the Urban Health Institute, has been named one of the 2013 MacArthur Fellows by the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation for his work in developing new healthcare delivery models to meet the medical and social service needs of Camden residents,” said John P. The feature is the first in a series of stories that will be produced over the next year highlighting Cooper and the Camden Coalition’s engagement in transforming health care as part of the Accountable Care Act.

Cooper Honors 2013 Nurse Excellence Award Recipients

Cooper University Health Care honored the recipients of the 2013 Nursing Excellence Awards during Nursing’s Annual Ceremony. This year, 19 direct-care nurses and Cooper employees were recognized by their peers for outstanding leadership, professionalism and delivery of safe and high-quality care.
