Cooper University Health Care and Inspira Health today announced the formation of Cooper and Inspira Neuroscience, another partnership between the two health systems. The formation of this partnership improves local access to a comprehensive range of advanced neuroscience care including surgical and nonsurgical services related to the brain, spinal cord, and central nervous system. Cooper University Health Care received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines^®-Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award in recognition of the health system’s commitment to providing the most appropriate stroke treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines, ultimately leading to more lives saved, shorter recovery times, and fewer readmissions to the hospital. Cooper University Health Care will host the first New Jersey Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) Hackathon.  The goal of this event is to explore innovative ways to leverage health information technology to better engage at-risk populations, improve access to care, address issues of equity, and chronically poor health outcomes for underserved and marginalized populations at both the local and state level. As part of its Health Careers Initiative (CHCI) program, Cooper University Health Care, in cooperation with several community organizations, is now offering a new program for students interested in becoming emergency medical technicians (EMTs).

The Cooper EMT Training Program, developed in partnership with the Camden County Board of Commissioners, Camden County One Stop, Camden County College, Camden County Workforce Development Board, and Hopeworks, will provide low-cost, comprehensive training for an entry-level career in emergency medical services. (Egg Harbor Township, NJ) – In a move that will expand gastroenterology services in the region, Atlantic Gastroenterology Associates of Egg Harbor Township has joined the Digestive Health Institute of Cooper University Health Care. The practice will be renamed Cooper University Health Care, Gastroenterology at Fire Road.

More than 450 guests attended The Cooper Foundation’s annual Golf Outing and 13^th annual Pink Roses Teal Magnolias celebration of cancer survivorship held recently at Ramblewood Country Club in Mount Laurel. This event, which included a merchant fair, a sold-out golf outing, and an awards dinner ceremony, provided inspiration while raising $500,000 for programs and services at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. CAMDEN, NJ) Cooper University Health Care’s Innovation Center and DigiCARE Realized have signed a partnership agreement to test deployment and implementation of an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered technology designed to identify undiagnosed cases of early-stage Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

DigiCARE Realized, a virtual-first company with headquarters in Old Bridge, NJ, is an emerging AI-technology firm that commercializes evidence-based solutions for modernizing care for complex brain diseases like Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD). Read more.

When Cooper University Health Care’s thoracic surgeon Christopher Derivaux, MD, was commissioned as Lieutenant Colonel into the United States Army Reserves on April 14, 2023, it was a special moment. The first salutes he received were from his children: daughter, Lilly, an army reservist and ROTC member at Yale University; and his son, Christopher, a second-year cadet at the United States Military Academy West Point.
