MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper Receives National Recognition for Rectal Cancer Care

MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper’s Rectal Cancer Program has been accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC). MD Anderson at Cooper is the first and only hospital in NJ, and one of only 29 hospitals in the U.S., to achieve this honor.

Celebrating National Respiratory Care Week

Cooper University Health Care is proud to recognize National Respiratory Care Week from October 24 through October 30, 2021.  This has been another challenging year for respiratory therapists (RTs) as they have played a critical role throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Throughout the pandemic, RT teams around the country learned that because COVID-19 primarily affects a patient’s respiratory functions, placing critical COVID-19 positive patients in a prone position (lying horizontally, face down) allows for better lung expansion and improved outcomes. Read more.

Cooper University Health Care reaches COVID-19 vaccine milestone: More than 100,000 dosages given over past 10 months

Cooper University Health Care recently administered its 100,000th COVID-19 vaccine, reaching a new milestone in its efforts to combat COVID-19.

Camden County Commissioners Open Health Hub at Camden County College Campus in partnership with Cooper University Health Care and Rutgers-Camden School of Nursing

health hub drive throughThe Camden County Board of Commissioners, in partnership with Cooper University Health Care and the Rutgers-Camden School of Nursing, opened phase one of the Camden County Health Hub on Thursday, October 14. This new one-stop shop for COVID-19 vaccines, boosters, third doses, testing, and education is located on the Camden County College-Blackwood Campus. The drive-thru site will be operated in the vast parking lot on campus utilizing pop-up clinical pods. Read more.

ACS ASSET Program Comes to Cooper

On September 24, Cooper’s Military, Diplomatic, and Field Surgical Affairs kicked off its inaugural Advanced Surgical Skills for Exposure in Trauma (ASSET) course with Cooper residents, trauma fellows, medical students, Army OR Techs and Army health care providers assigned to Cooper. The participants spent an intensive day of learning about advanced surgical trauma care in Cooper Medical School of Rowan University’s Anatomy Laboratory with instruction from Cooper’s highly skilled trauma team. 11th Annual Cooper Red Hot Gala Raises $2.3 Million

The Chairman of Cooper University Health Care Board of Trustees, George E. Norcross III, and Cooper Foundation Chairman, Philip A. Norcross, announced today that The Cooper Foundation has raised a record-breaking $2.3 million at its 11th Annual Red Hot Gala. Originally scheduled to be held at the TRIAD1828 CENTRE on the Camden waterfront, the gala was changed to a virtual format out of concern for the safety of guests during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
