Philadelphia 76ers Managing Partner Josh Harris, Co-Managing Partner David Blitzer and the Philadelphia 76ers organization have made a significant donation to Cooper University Health Care’s COVID-19 Assistance Fund that will make a positive impact in meeting the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Cooper Foundation established the fund in response to numerous requests from the community to help Cooper, South Jersey’s leading academic health system, during this national emergency.  Read more.

Collaboration by Cooper, Virtua, and Camden County Freeholder Board

Cooper University Health Care, Virtua Health, the Camden County Freeholder Board, and Camden County Health Department have collaborated to open a new drive-up COVID-19 testing site in the city of Camden beginning April 1, 2020.

In light of this uncertain and difficult time, we feel it is more important than ever to take a moment to acknowledge all those on the front lines – physicians, nurses, and support staff – who are working around the clock to care for our patients. Read more.

Cooper University Health Care currently has an adequate supply of masks, however they remain in short supply nationwide due to COVID-19.

Cooper is looking to be proactive in addressing the possibility of future supply challenges and is calling on all sewing volunteers to help make masks. Our hope is that we won’t need them, but we must plan for the unknown. Read more.

Beginning Friday, March 27, 2020, at 8 p.m., the Cooper Urgent Care Center in Cherry Hill will be temporarily closed.

We are taking this action to reassign the staff at the Cherry Hill Urgent Care facility to our Emergency Department and other areas of the health system to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

You receive news that a family member or close friend has tested positive for COVID-19. What should you do now? The good news, according to infectious disease expert at Cooper University Health Care, is that most healthy people who have contracted COVID-19 have mild illness and can convalesce at home. For a small percentage people, particularly those with other risk factors or chronic health conditions, hospitalization may be required. Read more.

In response to numerous requests about how people can help Cooper University Health Care, George E. Norcross, III, Cooper Board Chairman, and Philip A. Norcross, Cooper Foundation Chairman, announced today that The Cooper Foundation has established a COVID-19 Assistance Fund. George, and his children, Lexie and Alex, along with Phil and Carole Norcross have made $10,000 contributions to the new fund. Read more.

Today, Cooper University Health Care announced it has begun COVID-19 testing in its own laboratory.  This announcement follows the announcement of last week that Cooper had launched a specimen collection location in Cherry Hill.  Cooper now has the ability to both collect specimens and run tests all conducted by Cooper personnel.

Physician’s Order Required for Testing/No-Walk Ups

Cooper University Health Care has opened an off-site collection center for COVID-19 testing at its ambulatory care center at 1210 Brace Road in Cherry Hill.

The collection site is open to Cooper patients, who have symptoms or meet other criteria, and who receive an order from a Cooper provider for testing. Read more.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, people attempting to maintain some semblance of normalcy have questions concerning what is considered safe practice and what isn’t.  According to infectious disease experts at Cooper University Health Care, one area citizens need not worry about is ordering take-out food.
