Rana Awdish, MD, author of In Shock, yesterday discussed her best-selling memoir based on her first-hand account of going from a young critical care physician to a dying patient in an instant. She was the featured speaker for the Seventh Annual Berkowitz Family Foundation Lecture Program.

More Than 2,200 Backpacks and School Supplies Donated Through The Cooper Foundation’s Operation Backpack

CAMDEN, N.J. — The Cooper Foundation, along with city officials and school leaders, today distributed backpacks and school supplies to every student at KIPP Cooper Norcross Academy (KCNA) Lanning Square Primary and Middle School campus and KCNA Whittier Middle School in Bergen Square. Cooper University Health Care recently recognized Jennifer Orr, RN, of Collingswood, NJ, with the DAISY Award for providing exceptional nursing care. Orr is a nurse in Cooper’s Intensive Care Unit.

Orr was nominated by Mary Jane Durkin, MSN, RN, OCN, an oncology clinical educator at Cooper, following a hospitalization.

On Monday, August 5, Cooper University Health Care opened a new primary care practice at 20 Black Horse Pike in Runnemede.

Staffed by internal medicine physician Juan S.
