“Stop the Bleed” Training Offered at Cooper

Would you know how to “Stop the Bleed” if your loved one had a deep laceration causing severe bleeding?

The Cooper University Health Care Department of Trauma is offering free “Stop the Bleed” training as part of a national initiative aimed at putting knowledge gained by first responders and the military into the hands of the public to help save lives during times of disaster. Read more.

Cooper Trauma Surgeon on Good Day Philadelphia to Talk About “Stop the Bleed”

Dr. Joshua P. Hazelton, Attending Surgeon with the Cooper Trauma Center, appeared on FOX 29’s Good Day Philadelphia program this morning to talk about “Stop the Bleed.”

“The first thing you want to do is direct pressure to the wound with gloves if you have gloves, of course, for safety. The next thing you want to do is get a tourniquet… what we want to do is get the tourniquet above the wound, between the wound and the heart. Read more.

Cooper Offers Free “Stop the Bleed” Training to Organizations and Groups

Would you know how to “Stop the Bleed” if your loved one had a deep laceration causing severe bleeding?

Cooper University Health Care’s EMS Outreach coordinators, in collaboration with the Cooper Trauma Department, will offer free Stop the Bleed training to community organizations, businesses, or agencies as part of a national initiative aimed at putting knowledge gained by first responders and the military into the hands of the public to help save lives during times of disaster.
