National Preparedness Month

This September marks the 10th anniversary of National Preparedness Month. Though some people feel it is impossible to be prepared for unexpected events, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises that taking preparedness actions helps people deal with disasters of all sorts much more effectively. The CDC and Red Cross offer the following guidance:

1. Get a kit – gather emergency supplies such as water and food that would provide for your entire family.
2. Make a plan – develop a family disaster plan.
3. Be informed!

Cooper’s Patient Safety Department will have an information table at One Cooper Plaza outside of the employee cafeteria this Thursday, October 4, at lunchtime, where they will share more emergency preparedness information and resources.
