National Nurse Anesthetists Week

Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) are advanced practice registered nurses who, in collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons, dentists, podiatrists and other qualified healthcare professionals, provide anesthesia care.

In addition to handling their clinical responsibilities, Cooper’s 44 CRNAs often as first-responders, CRNAs routinely participate in interdisciplinary affairs by developing policies and standards of care. CRNAs are active on the Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Council, SCIP/SUSP Taskforces, Unit-Based Councils, and various Cooper committees.

CRNAs provide lectures and in-service programs throughout Cooper and are the primary force behind moderate sedation training for registered nurses.  Several CRNAs hold teaching positions at nearby graduate-level nurse anesthesia training programs and many CRNAs serve as clinical preceptors for student nurse anesthetists, medical students and residents.

Please join us in recognizing Cooper’s nurse anesthetists for their role in the anesthesia community and their dedication to providing quality care.
