Last week, Cooper celebrated the official opening of The Ripa Center for Women’s Health & Wellness with expanded service options. These now include radiology services for women, such as:
Mammography in the New Sensory Suite
The Sensory Suite engages the senses with aromatherapy and the sights and sounds of your favorite getaway. Patients can choose from a fragrant garden, cascading waterfall or relaxing beach to help alleviate any anxiety you may experience during the exam. The calming visuals, soothing music and aromatherapy create a spa-like atmosphere.
Cooper is the only site in the three-state region to offer the sensory system.
DEXA Scan
This is a bone-density test for women who may be at risk for osteoporosis. Bone density testing is recommended for all women over the age of 65. Additionally, postmenopausal women under 65 years who have risk factors for osteoporosis other than menopause (such as a previous history of fractures, low body weight, cigarette smoking, and/or a family history of fractures) should be tested.
DEXA bone-density testing is available for men and is offered through Cooper’s Radiology Department at other locations.
General Ultrasound
Ultrasound imaging is a noninvasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions.
