Cooper Early Intervention Offers New Health Self-Management Program

Through a series of workshops held weekly for six weeks, participants will learn:
• Techniques to deal with frustration, fatigue, pain and isolation as a result of their condition.
• Appropriate exercises for maintaining and improving strength, flexibility and endurance.
• Appropriate use of medications.
• How to communicate effectively with family, friends and health care professionals.
• About developing good nutritional habits.
• How to evaluate new treatments.

The workshops will be held on Wednesday evenings from 5 to 7:30 p.m. beginning January 7, 2015, and continuing through February 11, 2015. A complimentary dinner will be served at 4:30 p.m. before each session. Participation is free and participants will receive a copy of “Living a Healthy Life With Chronic Conditions,” a relaxation CD and other tools to help manage health.
