Trauma Nurse Honored During Trauma Awareness Month

It is fitting that Keith Kline, RN, was honored with the Trauma Nurse Excellence Award at the Nurse Excellence Awards Dinner, a ceremony that is also held during Trauma Awareness Month. Keith was honored for his 10 years as a trauma surgical ICU and trauma admitting nurse. Keith has embraced the role with commitment to clinical practice, quality patient outcomes and the patient experience. He consistently demonstrates a keen teamwork ethic and leads others through his exemplary practice. Patients, families and staff recognize him for his positive and caring approach at the bedside. Keith continually strives to provide patient-family centered care and consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that the smallest detail or needs of patient and family are addressed.

Keith is a professional role model, preceptor and mentor, and provides tremendous support for his peers. When functioning in the charge role, he guides his peers and co-workers through change and supports leadership through direct and professional communication of clinical issues and unit operations. Keith has demonstrated professional growth by seeking out experiences outside of his exceptional bedside care. He has been past chair of the PCS Informatics Council, TSICU Unit-Based Council and currently is part of the Pediatric Special Interest Group for TAA.

Keith is an asset to both the trauma team and Patient Care Services department. He is the recipient of the Trauma Nurse Excellence Award this year as well as the Cooper Nurse of the Year Award.
