$5,000 Employee Referral Bonus and $10,000 Sign-On Bonus Program for Referred Full-Time OR Nurses

As an incentive for our staff, Cooper is offering a $5,000 referral bonus for any nonmanagerial employee who refers an experienced (two years or greater) OR nurse who is then hired full time. This incentive program includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus to qualified nurses who commit to two years of service. This will not apply to any current Cooper OR nurse that resigns after August 10, 2015.

A recruitment dinner and continuing education program is planned for experienced OR nurses on Wednesday, September 23, 2015, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Details will be provided once finalized.

Criteria for the referral bonus:

  • The ONLY positions eligible for referral bonus payout are operating room registered nurses with two years minimum clinical experience applying for full-time positions.
  • The referred applicant MUST list the referring Cooper employee on their initial application to Cooper.
  • The bonus payout will be given to the employee who referred the successful candidate. The bonus will be paid only if both the referring and referred employees are employed by Cooper at the time of the payout cycle.
  • Payment of half the bonus will be given upon completion of six months of the referred nurse’s employment, as determined by official start date. The remaining half of the bonus will be given after completion of one year of the referred nurse’s employment. Bonus payments will not be made if the referred nurse leaves Cooper prior to completion of these milestones.
  • Cooper reserves the right to make all final selections and employment decisions.
  • Bonus amounts noted are taxable income to the employee who receives the bonus.
  • The referral program is open to nonmanagement-level staff ONLY.
  • Candidates cannot be an existing employee or a former employee who left Cooper’s employment after August 10, 2015.
  • An employee may make more than one referral. However, no more than one employee may receive a referral bonus for any one candidate referred.
  • The employee referral program will end on or before December 31, 2015, based on the number of new hires.
  • Management reserves the right to make changes to the program at any time.
