April Is National Donate Life Month

Cooper University Health Care recognizes April as National Donate Life Month. The celebration commemorates those who have given the gift of organ and tissue, those who have received a life-saving transplant, those who are currently waiting for a transplant, and those who have died while waiting for the gift of life.

Cooper supports organ and tissue donation through our partnership with the NJ Sharing Network, a non-profit, federally-designated organization responsible for the recovery and placement of donated organs and tissue for New Jersey residents in need of life-saving transplants. NJ Sharing Network partners with Donate Life America, a not-for-profit national alliance that drives communities to increase their numbers of registered donors.
This year alone, Cooper has collaborated on six organ donor cases that resulted in 21 life-saving transplants. Also, nine tissue donors resulted in 710 life enhancing transplants to restore health and mobility for the recipients.

To learn more, become involved, or to register as an organ and tissue donor, please stop by Cafeteria B on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. where an informational table will be hosted by the NJ Sharing Network.
