High Alert: Ransomeware Warning!

Cooper continues to receive emails containing ransomware. The attackers are becoming more sophisticated and are changing their methods in further attempts to fool our employees. To protect our patients, everyone must take the following steps:

  • Do not open emails from anyone you do not know.
  • Do not click on attachments or links within an email from anyone you do not know.
  • Do not follow instructions in an email to fix something, change your password, etc.
  • If the contents of an email look suspicious, it is. Immediately delete the email.
  • If you have opened an attachment or clicked on a link, immediately contact the Help Desk at 856.968.7166. We need to take steps to prevent further spread of the virus.

We also recommend all employees view the video: Avoid Being a Victim of Ransomware.

To protect our patients, everyone must be diligent. A virus or ransomware entering our health system can render our IT systems unavailable and have a severe negative impact on our ability to treat patients.
