October Is Physical Therapy Month – Meet Our Team

At Cooper, our physical therapists work in a variety of teams with each team providing treatment that is focused on a specialty population. Throughout the month of October – Physical Therapy Month — we’ll be highlighting different team members so you can get to know them and understand their role.

James F. Ross, PT

jamesJames (Jim) is a 1974 graduate of the University Of Maryland School Of Physical Therapy, holding degrees in Physical Therapy (B.S.) and Economics (B.A.). He is a seasoned veteran in the field with over 40 years of immersive and continuous physical therapy experience in the South Jersey area. Jim has practiced in inpatient, outpatient, and home care sites – most notably his own practice, Evesham Physical Therapy, from 1985-2016. His specialty is orthopedics, with a focus on shoulder, neck, knee, and back patients. He takes great pride in providing conscientious and genuine care for each and every patient to ensure a successful road to recovery.

Jim is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and has served as a District Officer and a member of the Continuing Education Committee. He is also a frequent volunteer in many community events, including local running and swimming organizations.

In his spare time, Jim can be found enjoying time with his wife Linda and four children – Jennifer, Kathryn, Rebecca, and James Jr.

Amanda Bower, PTA

amandaAmanda is a graduate of the Physical Therapy Assistant program at Mercer County Community college, where she graduated with an Associate degree in Applied Science in 2014.  Amanda completed her clinical rotations in a variety of settings including skilled nursing and outpatient orthopedics where she gained clinical experience in working with individuals suffering from various musculoskeletal injuries.

Amanda’s love for physical therapy started when she volunteered her time at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in her high school years. She likes to keep her patients motivated with her upbeat personality and uses her positive attitude to help individuals achieve optimal outcomes with physical therapy.  Amanda is very passionate about physical therapy and is looking forward to developing her clinical knowledge through annual educational seminars.

Michele Stroud, PT

michelleMichele is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson University. She has been in practice in the state of New Jersey since 1991 and has taken extensive continuing education courses in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction. She continues to refine her manual techniques, focusing primarily on the myofascial release approach taught by John F. Barnes, PT. Her treatment approach involves identification and treatment of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular dysfunctions, taking into consideration issues that may facilitate or delay improvement such as ongoing life stressors, diet, and exercise habits.
