Last month Cooper University Hospital renamed its Trauma Admitting Area in honor of renowned trauma surgeon Steven E. Ross, MD, longtime leader of the Cooper Trauma Center.
As part of a surprise ceremony, George E. Norcross III, Chairman of Cooper University Health Care, unveiled a new sign and commemorative plaque designating the Trauma Admitting Area as the new Steven E. Ross Trauma Admitting Area.
“Naming the Trauma Admitting Area in honor of Dr. Ross is a perfect tribute to his contribution to Cooper’s reputation for excellence in trauma,” said Norcross. “His name will forever remain a part of the trauma department that he helped to build.”
The ceremony and celebration of Dr. Ross’s achievements were hosted by The Cooper Foundation, which coordinated a secret fundraising mission that honored Ross and raised more than $125,000 to equip the Trauma Admitting Area with new portable X-ray technology.
