Patient Safety Awareness Week

During Patient Safety Awareness Week, March 12 through March 18, 2017, Cooper University Health Care will celebrate our patient safety achievements. Although we use this week to celebrate these achievements and increase awareness, safe care is our organization’s focus, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

The Good Catch Program – Nominate a coworker for putting patient safety first!

As part of Patient Safety Awareness Week, the Patient Safety Committee is rolling out “The Good Catch Award.” All Cooper employees are invited to nominate a coworker for this honor. A “Good Catch” is a potential error or safety issue that is identified by a Cooper Employee before it reaches the patient. All Good Catch nominations will be reviewed by the Patient Safety Committee. The chosen recipient will be presented with their award in the following quarter.

You can nominate a coworker two ways through the EARS reporting site.

Option 1

  • Click the Good Catch icon .
  • Complete the Good Catch online form and a corresponding event report.
  • Be sure to include the name of the nominee on the Good Catch form.

Option 2

  • When filling out your EARS B2. Near Miss-Didn’t reach person due to recovery efforts from staff event report, a field will populate to offer the option to nominate staff members for the Good Catch Award below the B2 harm score.

Be sure to include the name of the Good Catch Award nominee(s).
