New Operating Rooms Opened

To meet the growth in the number of patients seeking surgery at Cooper, yesterday eight new operating rooms, including a special vascular suite, opened on the second floor of the Roberts Pavilion, increasing the total number of operating rooms system-wide to 38.

As a leading academic, tertiary care health system with the region’s only Level 1 Trauma Center, demand for services at Cooper have grown over the past six years, particularly in the area of surgery both in Camden and our Voorhees Surgical Center. The number of surgeries at Cooper system-wide has grown from 14,737 procedures in 2011 to 21,890 in 2017, an increase of 49 percent.

Cooper’s continued growth is a direct result of the skill, high-quality care, and compassion each one of you demonstrates to every patient, every day. We thank you for everything you do.

We have included a few pictures of the new operating rooms below.
