Calling the CCBO? Don’t Accidentally Call 911 Emergency Dispatch!

IT and the Cooper Security departments have received complaints regarding excessive, accidental 911 calls due to employees dialing a “9” before the “110” Calling Code for the CCBO. As a result, Cooper may incur fines.

To dial 911 in an emergency, you can either dial 911 or 9911.

When dialing an internal extension, DO NOT dial “9” before the three-digit Cooper location Calling Code.

For example, when calling someone in CCBO with an extension of 1234, you should dial 1101234. If you dial “9” before this number 91101234, the call will be routed to the 911 emergency dispatch.

Refer to the Pulse portal page under IT Links, Phone Conversion Training for a review of the phone system training. The quick reference of calling codes for Cooper sites is below and on the front page of the Pulse.
