Wear Green and Blue on April 12 for National Donate Life Month

April is National Donate Life Month and Cooper is helping to honor those who have selflessly donated their tissue and organs to help another. Cooper’s Donor Council is a multidisciplinary team that works with the NJ Sharing Network to ensure best practices during the organ donation process. Cooper’s referral rate is 97.6 percent with eight missed opportunities for donation in 2018. Our 2019 goal is 99 percent.

To continue to raise awareness of Cooper’s work with the NJ Sharing Network and the importance of organ donation, several activities are planned:

  • #SaveNJLives coffee sleeves will be available at Cooper.
  • Green and Blue Day, the official recognition colors, will be celebrated throughout Cooper on Friday, April 12, 2019. Employees are encouraged to wear blue and green where appropriate.
  • An information table will also be set up on April 12 at Cooper University Hospital’s Cooper Court Cafeteria in the Kelemen Pavilion, 2nd Floor.

Thank you to the members of the Donor Council and to the many Cooper staff members who help make organ donation a possibility.
