Cooper Medical School of Rowan University Graduation

Congratulations to the 75 graduates who earned medical degrees from Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) on Thursday, May 16, 2019. This is the fourth and largest graduating class since CMSRU opened in 2013. To date, 247 students have graduated from the school.

Service to the community is a core component of CMSRU’s unique mission, setting it apart from other medical schools. During their four years at CMSRU, the Class of 2019 performed an impressive 14,770 hours of service in community-based projects that directly supported residents of Camden.

During the next few weeks, these new medical doctors will move on to the next phase of their medical education as first year medical or surgical residents at residency programs across the country. More than half the class will be entering training programs that prepare residents in primary care medicine, and 26% will remain in New Jersey to complete their training, including 12 students who matched at Cooper University Health Care.

As CMSRU’s academic affiliate, Cooper University Health Care has had the privilege of participating in the education of this next generation of physicians. Thank you to our medical staff and all of our employees who were an integral part of the educational process for our medical students in our hospital and ambulatory practices.

We extend a warm welcome to the newly graduated physicians who will be embarking on their residency training right here at Cooper University Health Care, and look forward to the impact they’ll have on our patients and their families.

Best wishes to all the CMSRU graduates.
