Special Delivery for Patients to Celebrate Mother’s Day

On May 9, just in time for Mother’s Day, volunteers with the Lauren Rose Albert Foundation/Mothers Matter Program visited Cooper University Health Care to bring cheer to mothers, grandmothers, and caregivers with a donation of special gift baskets.

Since 2001, the Lauren Rose Albert Foundation has reached out to mothers-in-need by donating thousands of gift baskets overflowing with personal health and beauty care products to numerous health care facilities, women’s shelters and crisis programs, child care centers, and facilities such as the Ronald McDonald House and the Memorial Veterans Home, during the week of Mother’s Day. This year, 125 baskets were provided to women at Cooper. The gifts were delivered to cancer patients, moms of pediatric and NICU patients, new moms, trauma patient family members, and others who found themselves in the hospital on Mother’s Day.

In addition to their traditional Mother’s Day gifts, Mothers Matter volunteers assemble and deliver thousands of personal gift bags throughout the year to women in need. Girl Scout troops, businesses, schools, community organizations and agencies participate through Mothers Matter collection drives, contributions, and volunteer support. Since its inception, Mothers Matter volunteers assembled and delivered more than 50,000 Mothers Matter gift bags and baskets to day care centers, women’s shelters and safe houses, pediatric medical day-care facilities, women’s agencies, hospitals, and other facilities that serve the needs of women. Each gift bears the message that “Mothers Matter.”
