Corepoint Interface Engine & Bernoulli Device Integration Scheduled Production Downtime

DATE: Sunday, July 14, 2019

DURATION: 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. (1 hour)

DESCRIPTION: The Corepoint Interface Engine and Bernoulli Device Integration systems will be brought down starting at 2 a.m. for up to one hour to upgrade Corepoint to the latest version. The Corepoint upgrade is necessary to make the interfaces more maintainable and robust as well as to remain in the vendor’s support window.

In addition, the Bernoulli Device Integration server will be updated during this window to include the latest required patches. This update is expected to be completed in the same window as the Corepoint downtime, but could extend slightly beyond the downtime depending on the overall timing of the various steps being taken.

IMPACT: All interface traffic to and from Epic will be stopped during the upgrade, but will queue and transmit at the conclusion. Device integration (patient vitals) data will also be interrupted and charting of vitals during the outage should be done manually. It may take up to 15 minutes after the upgrade is complete for the backlog of queued interface and device traffic to clear.

OTHER AFFECTED SYSTEMS: Epic and the upstream and downstream interfaced systems, such as Sunquest Lab, Omnicell, Responder5, PACS, etc., will experience delays in traffic during and immediately after the downtime.
