International Infection Prevention Week

Established in 1986 by President Ronald Reagan, International Infection Prevention Week (IIPW) focuses attention on the importance of infection prevention in saving lives.

Over the years, this week of recognition has vastly expanded to every corner of the globe, including Australia, the United Kingdom, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. As the reach of IIPW widens, more patients benefit from safer health care practices and reduced threat of health care-associated infections.

Join your friends, family members, and health care professionals in celebrating IIPW during October 13 through 19, 2019.

The 2019 theme for International Infection Prevention Week is Vaccines are Everybody’s Business. Help raise awareness of the role vaccines play in infection prevention and protecting public health!
