Sunquest Lab System Downtime

Date:  Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 11 p.m.

Duration: Approximately one hour

Description: Sunquest will be taken down for approximately one hour while a software patch is installed to fix a vulnerability. During this time, lab orders and lab results will not be electronically transmitted to and from Sunquest and Epic.

Impact: All clinical areas that order labs and view lab results will be affected. During the downtime, point-of-care lab results (such as Glucometer) will not be electronically transmitted to Epic. Lab results will be available by phone, but there will be delays. STAT results and critical values will be called to the respective units. The Hot Button launch from Epic to the Collection Manager application will be unavailable during the downtime; however, Epic will be available to place orders and collect labs.

What you can do to help during the downtime: 

  • Limit routine lab orders and only order essential lab tests.
  • Avoid calls to the lab for non-urgent needs. If you need to contact the lab, please call 100-2500 (856-342-2500).

A follow-up communication will be sent following the completion of the upgrade.
