Flu Season at Cooper Officially Ends

As a result of surveillance activities conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and our own experience where we are seeing very few patients with influenza, our infection prevention team and hospital epidemiologist have declared today, Tuesday, April 28, 2020, as the end of the 2019/2020 influenza season at Cooper.

However, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, influenza-like illness (ILI) activity remains high in our area. Therefore, the current COVID-19 masking policy for employees, visitors, and patients, as well as the visitor restriction policy at all Cooper University Health Care locations, will continue to remain in effect.

Please continue to be vigilant in taking the appropriate isolation precautions and using PPE for patients. Proper hand hygiene, good coughing and sneezing etiquette, and social distancing remain essential to combat COVID-19.

Thank you for your diligence in keeping our patients, visitors, and employees safe.
