Our Faculty Book Club routinely meets to ponder and discuss short stories and poems with significance to our medical community. In light of current events, we want to focus our attention on some of the important and interesting works discussing issues of diversity and inclusion. For our upcoming virtual session on Thursday, September 17, 2020, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., we will discuss the book “White Fragility.” We hope to include more pieces highlighting various aspects of different group experiences in the future. While we usually dedicate our sessions to short stories and poems, we also want to engage works that address issues relevant to our current experience. The book takes about four hours on Audible or similar platforms but, even if you have not read the book, you are welcome to join in the conversation.
