Save the Crayons!

Help Cooper by donating used and broken crayons.

The Children’s Regional Hospital and the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department at Cooper are partnering with The Crayon Initiative for a colorful donation event highlighting Art Therapy Awareness. Children, the future of tomorrow, have multiple needs for healing, not only for their injuries but also for their souls. At Cooper, our teams address the complex needs that occur after trauma, and we encourage our patients to express themselves in any way they choose.

How It Works:

The Crayon Initiative collects used crayons, upcycles them, and then redistributes the brand new crayons to art programs in children’s hospitals throughout the U.S. Check it out: The Crayon Initiative – Who We Are on Vimeo

A box containing 25 pounds of used crayons can yield enough raw materials to supply 125 hospitalized children with new eight-crayon packs. This is an inspiring way to help reduce waste, support the environment, and bring joy to hospitalized children around the country.

Collection boxes will be available beginning March 23 through April 30, 2021.

Bring in any used, broken, or unwanted crayons you have and drop them in any of The Crayon Initiative containers located at:
