Celebrating Cooper’s Nurses During National Nurses Week

In recognition of National Nurses Week, Cooper University Health Care honors the committed, compassionate nurses who provide expert care to our patients and their families. Your dedication and hard work are crucial in supporting the health of our community and the patients you care for.

Last year, the World Health Organization declared 2020 the Year of the Nurse. Now, the American Nurses Association and the World Health Organization have officially extended the Year of the Nurse into 2021 in acknowledgement of the incredible impact that nurses have had throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

In keeping with this theme, Kathy Devine, RN, DrNP, Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer, has recorded a special message recognizing the hard work and dedication of Cooper’s nurses. You can listen here.

As part of Cooper’s Nurses Week celebrations, tomorrow, Wednesday, May 5, 2021, from noon to 1 p.m., the Nursing Shared Governance Council will host distinguished guest Robyn Begley, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, FAAN, Chief Executive Officer, American Organization for Nursing Leadership and Senior Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer of the American Hospital Association. Dr. Begley will provide a keynote address – Nursing Insights: Leading Through the Pandemic and Beyond – to our Cooper nurses. Throughout her illustrious career, Dr. Begley has served in leadership roles for various state nursing and professional nursing organizations, and has more than 40 years of experience leading the nursing profession at the local, state, national, and international levels.
