Employee Story:  Mona Dizon’s Cooper Experience

I am Mona Dizon. Before joining the Cooper team, I worked with my past employer for 15 years, six of them as  a Supervisor in the chemistry lab. I decided to switch to work at Cooper two years ago and that was one of the best choices I’ve made in my entire life! Cooper brings out the best in me! I am always excited to come to work because deep in my mind, I’m working for a purpose and that is saving lives and helping people by way of giving my best in every test that I process/ perform in the lab. Our manager is an awesome leader and we have such an amazing Cooper laboratory team! Such a blessing! Serving the community with quality care is one thing for Cooper but the endless commitment to continual improvement and the exceptional work and dedication that the employees have is another thing that Cooper possesses! Such a joy in my heart to be a part of Cooper!

This pandemic has been a challenge for all of us. Last year, my husband and I sewed more than 1000 masks that we shared with my Cooper Laboratory team members. We also donated some masks to the Cooper Foundation. The money that my Cooper lab co-workers shared with us made it possible for us to make so many masks for team members working at the Cooper lab and for their families, as well. They were all appreciative of what we did but the best part is, there was love, compassion, and kindness present when the mask making and mask giving happened. Thanking God for our gifts of talents and abilities to be able to give to our community.

I remember, we also prayed several times as a group when two of our co-workers were struggling to fight for their lives due to COVID-19. There was love, forgiveness, and unity during those times. We have seen and felt how valuable each and every one of us is working in the lab. The community needed, and still needs, our expertise and our help in giving out quality results of our patients with COVID-19 and with all other diseases for their diagnosis and treatment.

God speed to Cooper and God bless to each and every team member working at Cooper. We know we are in the right place. Cooper is the place to be!

Sincerely,
Mona Dizon
