Medical Laboratory Professionals Week

In honor of Medical Laboratory Professionals Week, Cooper recognizes our medical laboratory professionals and pathologists who play a vital role in health care and patient advocacy. Lab Week, which originated in 1975, provides an opportunity to increase public awareness, understanding, and appreciation of laboratory professionals. Did you know that 70% of medical decisions are based on laboratory results?  As critical members of the health care team, laboratorians work behind the scenes to verify the accuracy of test results, and provide test results in a timely manner to health care providers who rely on these results to provide outstanding patient care.

Cooper’s laboratory team has 225 full-time and part-time team members who serve as pathologists, cytogeneticists, technologists, technicians, managers, directors, phlebotomists, pathology assistants, transcriptionists, administrative coordinators, and laboratory assistants. The laboratory stands at the ready to support our Cooper clinical colleagues with our commitment to high-quality standards. Congratulations to our lab team – enjoy your week!
