Recognizing Health Care Risk Management Professionals

This week, in honor of Health Care Risk Management Week, we are highlighting the critical role that risk managers play in patient safety, patient care practices, quality assurance, safe work environments, and the prevention of liability issues.

Established in 1980 by the American Society for Health Care Risk Management, this week promotes solutions to help prevent some of the most common adverse events. This year’s theme – “Integral to Safe and Trusted Health Care” – celebrates the central role of health care risk management professionals in protecting their organizations.

“We recognize that all health care workers play a critical role in patient safety and, along with our risk management professionals, we work to move closer to zero preventable serious safety events,” says Eileen Craig, Director of Risk Management and Insurance. “We recognize the important role each team member plays in reducing risks across the health system.”

As we celebrate this special week, we applaud everyone’s efforts in promoting a safe environment for our patients and team members.
