Cooper Heart Team Participates in Important Study, Results Are Published

The results of an eight-year study that Michael Rosenbloom, MD, FACS, FACC, FACCP, Head, Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Cooper and member provider of Cooper and Inspira Cardiac Care, participated in was recently published in the Journal of Cardiac Surgery. The Eight‐year outcomes of aortic valve replacement with the Carpentier‐Edwards PERIMOUNT Magna Ease valve study tracked the outcomes of adults who had aortic valve replacement surgery between October 2007 and December 2012. The study demonstrated that aortic valve replacement surgery using the Magna Ease valve is safe and shows improved function for patients.

Cooper was the second largest enroller, with 258 patients, in this trial at 14 investigational sites in the US, Canada, and Europe. Participation in national and global clinical trials and research demonstrates Cooper’s commitment to advancing patient care. This trial is just one of many that the Cooper heart team have been involved with including the Amulet from Abbott Laboratories, the WaveCrest device from Johnson & Johnson, and the WATCHMAN FLX.

Congratulations to Dr. Rosenbloom and the entire cardiac surgery and cardiology team on this recognition.
