Cooper Receives Prestigious Recognition for Newborn Care

Cooper University Health Care has achieved the highly prestigious international Baby-Friendly designation after a rigorous review process conducted by Baby Friendly, USA (BFUSA), the organization responsible for bestowing this certification in the United States. This recognition signifies that Cooper has implemented BFUSA’s Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding, which help mothers attain the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to successfully initiate and continue breastfeeding. A Baby-Friendly designation is all about mothers, babies, and their bonding, including skin-to-skin contact, rooming in, and exclusive breastfeeding, which all have health benefits for both mothers and babies.

Cooper joins a growing list of more than 20,000 Baby-Friendly hospitals and birth centers throughout the world that provide an environment that supports breastfeeding while respecting every woman’s right to make the best decision for herself and her family.
