Samantha Smith-Beavers, RN, BSN, a labor and delivery staff nurse, is the Daisy Award winner for January 2023. Samantha’s dedication to Cooper Nursing and the extraordinary care she provides to our Cooper patients earned her the following accolade:
“She has been very friendly and caring during my time here. She has stayed by my side almost the entire time. She would get me anything I needed almost immediately. She has made me feel as though I am the only patient in the entire hospital. Her level of caring and her bedside manner is truly amazing. This was my third child. (I had one vaginal and one c-section) I was very nervous about a VBAC and she took the time to explain it to me and then again to my mother once she arrived. Her nurturing and empathetic ways cannot be taught, she is genuinely a loving and caring person by nature. She would make an excellent teacher to nurses pursuing their degrees. She truly put me and my mother’s mind at ease about this VBAC. Without her, I do not believe I would have had a vaginal birth this time around. Please award her the DAISY award, she is so deserving of this acknowledgment and so much more.”
