Cooper Providing PPE Education for High-Consequence Infectious Diseases

On April 27, 2023, the Cooper University Hospital Disaster Medicine, Infection Prevention, and Infectious Disease teams will be working together to provide Cooper team members with hands-on education on proper donning/doffing procedures for a high-consequence infectious disease (HCID).

Due to the rise in outbreaks of diseases such as Ebola and Marburg, Cooper’s front-line providers must remain up to date on proper PPE procedures for the next HCID. Volunteers have already identified themselves to be on the HCID Response Team to care for those who are the sickest and most contagious should those patients ever present to Cooper.

For additional information, please contact Dr. Simon Sarkisian, Medical Director of Disaster Medicine.
