Medical Laboratory Professionals Week

This week is Medical Laboratory Professionals Week, an annual celebration to highlight and show appreciation for laboratory professionals.

Medical Laboratory Professionals Week originated in 1975 as National Medical Laboratory Week under the auspices of the American Society for Medical Technology, now called the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science.

The theme for Lab Week 2023 is “The Future Is Lab.” This year, we celebrate laboratory professionals who protect our future by skillfully adapting to meet today’s evolving patient care and public health challenges with resilience, innovation, and expertise.

Cooper’s Department of Pathology and Laboratory Services has demonstrated its ability to adapt to change through its rapid response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our 245 full-time and part-time team members serving as pathologists, cytogeneticists, technologists, technicians, managers, directors, phlebotomists, pathology assistants, transcriptionists, administrative coordinators, and laboratory assistants stand ready to support the future of laboratory testing and innovation at Cooper.

Congratulations to our Lab Team and enjoy your week!
