Vote for Cooper’s Q2 Good Catch Winner

A “Good Catch” is a potential error that never reaches the patient because of identification by a team member. These events can also be referred to as a near miss, and they are often the key to identifying system and process issues before errors have a chance to harm a patient, visitor, or team member.

This is why Cooper has instituted a Good Catch program. The program encourages the reporting of Good Catches via the EARS reporting system. These events are reviewed for opportunities for improvement and are also nominated for a quarterly Good Catch award. We believe that our team members and providers deserve to be recognized for all of the hard work that they put in each and every day, especially when they help to identify key opportunities for improvement.

Below are the nominees for this quarter’s Good Catch.

Nicole Young, MRI Tech. Paperwork indicated no pacemaker. Patient disoriented. Tech evaluated and felt a pacemaker. Confirmed by x-ray. Injury avoided. Click here to watch Nicole tell her story in her own words.
