World Breastfeeding Week

World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) takes place annually from August 1 through August 7. This year’s theme, “Let’s make breastfeeding and work, work,” focuses on breastfeeding and employment – the impact of paid leave, workplace support, and emerging parenting norms on breastfeeding through the lens of parents themselves.

The Cooper warm chain of support includes patients, staff, providers, and community resources through WBW 2023 objectives:

  • Inform people about working parents’ perspectives on breastfeeding and parenting.
  • Anchor optimal paid leave and workplace support as important tools to enable breastfeeding.
  • Engage with individuals and organizations to enhance collaboration and support for breastfeeding at work.
  • Galvanize action on improving working conditions and relevant support for breastfeeding.

Stop by our table outside the Cooper Court Cafeteria each day from noon to 2 p.m., beginning Tuesday, August 1, through Monday, August 7, 2023, to enter to win breastfeeding supplies, including a BabyBuddha.

For Cooper team member breastfeeding assistance, contact Ta’Nia Gervasi or Heather Yoder in our Lactation department at 856.342.3283.
