Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, ovarian cancer is the second most common gynecologic cancer in the United States and causes more deaths than any other cancer of the female reproductive system. Unfortunately, ovarian cancer is often called a “silent killer” because symptoms tend to go unnoticed or mistaken for other conditions, like endometriosis.

This month, experts with the Gynecologic Cancer Center at MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper are participating in Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month to share information about symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment for this group of diseases. We are the largest and most experienced gynecologic cancer treatment program in South Jersey and for more than three decades, our team of specialists has provided compassionate care to women with cancer and precancerous diseases of the ovaries, uterus, cervix, fallopian tubes, vulva, and vagina.

We recognize both the physical and the emotional toll these cancers can take on women and their families. We’re here for our patients, because no one fights cancer alone. Learn more about how we support our patients’ journeys here.
