Open Enrollment

This year’s Cooper team member open enrollment period is from November 17 through November 27, 2023. During this time, you can enroll or make changes to benefit elections for you and your family.

We have several exciting announcements coming for the 2024 benefit year.

Most Cooper team members will not see an increase in health benefit contributions for 2024, even as most organizations locally and nationally are increasing health benefit contributions. A small number of team members may see a contribution increase if they were promoted, received a raise, or had a job or salary change that moved them into a different benefit tier.

Our 2024 health plans will be the same as 2023, except they will now be administered by Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, the largest health insurer in New Jersey. Horizon BCBSNJ has been ranked number one by J.D. Power in member satisfaction among commercial health plans four out of the last five years. Our new pharmacy provider, Prime Therapeutics, will be managed by Horizon, replacing Express Scripts. Team members can expect to receive a new Horizon identification card on or before January 1, 2024.

Open enrollment is passive this year, meaning that if you do not make any changes during open enrollment, your current benefit elections will remain in effect for the upcoming plan year (January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2024). If you want a flexible spending account (FSA), however, you must take action to enroll in an FSA for 2024, your FSA does not carry over from year to year. You must submit your FSA benefit elections by November 27, 2023.

Important items for 2024:

  • Introducing HorizonbFit Program – a new fitness incentive program.
  • A dedicated Horizon phone line to support Cooper team members.
  • Precious Additions – Horizon’s program that supports expectant parents to prepare for their baby’s arrival.
  • Savings with Blue365 – savings on products and services that can help you live a well-balanced lifestyle.
  • Infertility benefits – available in tiers one and two
  • Nutritional counseling – six visits combined across all tiers, regardless of diagnosis.
  • Livongo diabetes and hypertension management – team members currently enrolled with ESI will automatically transition to Livongo.
  • Laboratory services will continue through Cooper and Lab Corp, and now through Quest.
  • Enhanced vision benefits – new eyeglasses annually vs. biannually.
