May Is National Trauma Awareness Month

May is National Trauma Awareness Month. As the only Level I Trauma Center in the region, Cooper University Health Care provides care for the most severely injured patients. On average, Cooper treats more than 5,000 trauma patients each year, making it the busiest trauma center in New Jersey. We often see patients and their families on the worst day of their lives, so we welcome any opportunity to raise awareness about ways to prevent tragic accidents and protect those we love. Nobody likes to think about trauma, but accidents happen every day and can affect anyone, no matter their age, gender, or background. Life-changing events, such as car accidents, sports injuries, trips, falls, and drowning, can happen in an instant.
