Recognizing Health Care Risk Management Week

This week, in honor of Health Care Risk Management Week, we are highlighting the critical role that risk managers play across the health care enterprise. Health care risk professionals come from a variety of professional and educational backgrounds and are engaged in many aspects of health care, including event and incident management, clinical aspects, patient safety, patient care practices, quality assurance, safe work environments, insurance aspects, and the prevention of liability issues.

Established in 1980 by the American Society for Health Care Risk Management, this year’s theme “Prioritizing Safety and Mitigating Risk,” celebrates the central role of health care risk management professionals in protecting their organizations.

“We recognize that all health care team members play a critical role in managing and reducing risks every day. By partnering with our Risk Management professionals, we are able to make a positive impact on the delivery of health care and the safety of our patients,” said Eileen Craig, Cooper’s Director of Risk Management and Insurance.

As we celebrate this special week, the Risk Management team thanks everyone for their efforts in promoting a safe environment for our patients, their families, and our team members.
