Cooper University Health Care Named to Newsweek’s 2024 Best Maternity Hospitals List

Cooper University Health Care has been named on Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Maternity Hospitals 2024, marking its third consecutive year on the list. This prestigious award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider.

“We are deeply honored by this acknowledgment, which highlights Cooper’s dedication to perinatal safety and our unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional care and quality for mothers and their newborns,” stated Robin Perry, MD, MSEd, FACOG, Chief and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. “Our entire team is dedicated to ensuring the highest quality maternity care, united by a shared commitment to support and nurture every mother and baby with the utmost compassion and expertise.”

Three data sources were used for the evaluation:

  • Nationwide online survey: Health care professionals and hospital managers with knowledge about maternity processes, e.g., neonatal and perinatal doctors, nurses and midwives were asked to recommend leading maternity hospitals in the US.
  • Medical KPIs on hospitals with a focus on indicators relevant to maternity care.
  • Results from patient surveys.

High-quality maternity care, provided from pregnancy through birth and postpartum is key to the long-term health of newborns and women who give birth. Given that maternity care is a major component of health care, Newsweek and Statista have partnered for the third time to identify America’s Best Maternity Hospitals in 2024.
