Johns Hopkins Activity and Mobility Promotion Program Now Part of PCS Orientation

New Patient Care Services (PCS) team members were introduced to safe patient handling education during their orientation on Friday, July 12, 2024. This presentation, the first time using a new format that supports the Johns Hopkins Activity and Mobility Promotion program at Cooper, ensures that all new PCS team members are educated on safe patient mobility. This education is provided by members of the inpatient rehabilitation team.

Exercise and movement are important for patient recovery and have been shown to decrease the risk of blood clots, bedsores, constipation, and infections, while also helping to improve a patient’s appetite and mood.

Thank you to all the PCS team members who participated in the training and who are advocating for patient wellness. See our team members in action below.
