As a reminder, Cooper has heightened enforcement of our long-standing parking policy that requires team members to park above the third floor in the Sheridan Garage and above the fourth floor in the Hospital Garage in Camden. This policy applies to all Cooper-employed team members regardless of role.
Cooper’s parking policy was enacted for the benefit of our patients and visitors to ensure they have reserved spots to park. One of the reasons Cooper exists – and one of the cornerstones in our mission – is to serve our patients. Team members parking on the upper floors is a reasonable accommodation to create a positive experience for our patients and visitors.
Please remember, Cooper has also worked to enhance parking services in Camden to benefit team members as well. Over the past few years, Cooper has:
- Partnered to build the Medical School Garage, adding 500 spaces closer to the hospital.
- Installed a new parking gate system with window stickers for automatic opening.
- Increased security presence inside and outside of the garages.
- Added Cooper shuttle services to the Medical School Garage in the fall and winter when the sun sets early in the evening.
Due to high patient volume recently, Cooper’s garages are filling up. At the same time, the number of team members violating our parking policy and taking spaces reserved for patients and visitors has increased. Accordingly, we need to take additional steps to ensure our patients and visitors can park.
We ask all team members to please follow the parking policy and park on the upper floors of the garages. After all, you take the same number of steps to the elevator; you simply must ride a few more floors. If you have any questions, please email security here.
Thank you for your cooperation.
